About technology, true love, an expensive cat, and why your support matters so much right now đž
Hello dear Zidoo community and McBluna fans,
Iâm not writing to you as a tech expert. Quite the opposite: I almost have to apologize in advance â even though my husband has been doing this for 6 years now, I donât just understand very little about his work â I understand absolutely nothing. To me, itâs all just black boxes with flashing lights and endless columns of hieroglyphs on the screen.
While he keeps your players running, and you enjoy smooth 4K movies and perfect firmware builds, I often only see my husbandâs back. Iâve learned that âIâll be right there for dinnerâ in McBluna-speak means: âI just need to finish something quicklyâ â and Iâve learned that this can take a while!
What heâs actually doing (and why he loves it)
My husband isnât just doing simple bug fixes. Heâs doing real reverse engineering on McBluna.net. He breaks the software down into its individual parts and reassembles it for you so that your devices can do things that would never be possible right out of the box. This is digital precision work that he does entirely out of passion and offers to you completely free of charge.
âTeam McBlunaâ: A Man and His Shadow đâŹ
Actually, my husband never wanted a cat. But then Leo came along. A tiny, 750g bundle of misery â a Bengal-Maine Coon mix from a neglectful home. My husband literally raised him by hand, nursed him back to health, and helped him into the world.
Today, the two are inseparable. Leo is his shadow, his soulmate. Whether day or night, while tinkering on the computer or in bed (where Leo now takes up half the space) â the two are always a package deal.
The acoustic emergency: When love costs cables ⌠đ
As much as Leo loves his âdad,â he seems just as eager to test our tech. His latest project was the physical reverse engineering of our sound system in the living room. He took out a speaker and chewed through the cables so thoroughly that thereâs now absolute acoustic silence here.
So there he sits, the man whoâs been optimizing your home theaters worldwide for years â and at home, he can only hear tinny TV sound because his favorite cat made short work of it.
Why your support is a ray of hope right now â¨
But honestly, that broken sound system is just a minor side note. Behind the technology, the endless lines of code, and the tech-support answers is a person who is going through a very dark and difficult time right now. My husband has been battling severe depression for basically his whole life, and he is currently in the midst of a particularly heavy phase.
In moments when the darkness takes over and you wonder how much sense it all actually makes anymore, positive feedback isnât just nice to hear â it is a vital anchor. I want to remind him that his years of dedication have real value and are seen by a wonderful community.
With your support, youâll help us to:
- Cover the server costs so his âlifeâs workâ stays online.
- Fund âOperation Sound Systemâ (this time with cat-proof cables!) so he can enjoy that real movie theater experience at home again.
- Send a strong message of appreciation that shows him: âYour work is important, and weâre glad youâre here.â
If you would like to support him, you can do so here:
Thank you so much for your years of loyalty. Every donation â and truly every kind comment â means the world to him right now and helps ensure that Leo and his favorite human can continue to tinker away for you.
Warm regards,
McBlunaâs wife (who may not know anything about technology, but knows just how much heart and soul goes into this) đŹđž
